Purpose Driven Tutoring was founded by Shauntel Jacob, Owner & Executive Director, whose seventeen years in education working directly with students include experience as a Senior Family Literacy Program Assistant with the public library and working for the University of Phoenix. Shauntel holds a B.S. in Marketing from Tuskegee University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
A lifelong Fairfield native and graduate of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, Shauntel is active in local civic leadership — including committee chair work with the Delta Academy/GEMS program, and membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Fairfield-Suisun-Vallejo (FSV) Section of the National Council of Negro Women, and the NAACP Vallejo Branch.
Every cohort is supported by a role-based structure so that instruction, oversight, and operations each get dedicated focus.
Executive oversight, partner relationship management, school liaison, and funder reporting.
Direct student contact, on-site logistics, and oversight of instructional fidelity for every cohort.
Operational systems design, technology oversight, data platform management, and partnership development.
To strengthen foundational literacy skills, build student confidence, and cultivate a sustained love of reading — starting with the students and communities who need it most.
We bring proven curriculum, trained tutors, and wraparound support directly to school campuses, removing the transportation and access barriers that keep families from outside tutoring options. Community-based cohorts are also available based on students’ needs.
Shauntel regularly brings together school staff, families, and community partners to keep the program grounded in what local families actually need.
