Our Program

How the program works, start to finish.

Each student receives 45 minutes of personalized, one-on-one reading instruction each day, Monday through Friday, during a five-week tutoring cycle. Every cohort follows a science-of-reading-based, systematic phonics program. Our trained tutors deliver the program with care and consistency while tailoring support to each student's individual reading needs.

The literacy gap is real, and it's local

2025 CAASPP English Language Arts proficiency scores in Solano County show a wide and persistent gap:

We primarily partner with Title I schools serving some of the county's most historically underserved students and communities. These are the settings where consistent, high-dosage, one-on-one literacy intervention can make a meaningful difference—providing students with the individualized support, encouragement, and instructional time they need to grow as readers.

What a cohort looks like

A single cohort runs five weeks, Monday through Friday, entirely on the host campus. Parents seeking individual support for their student can participate in cohorts offered at a community partner site.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM, aligned to the host school's academic calendar. Individual students will be placed in cohorts based on start dates.

Staffing

One Lead Tutor / Site Coordinator plus a team of trained tutors per cohort.

Dosage

Up to 25 hours of direct 1:1 tutoring per full-time student.

Rotation

Each tutor rotates through three 45-minute student sessions per shift, maximizing 1-on-1 focus.

Non-negotiable protections for every student

Child safety and program integrity are built into how we operate — not added on afterward.

▢

Insurance coverage

General liability, auto liability, workers' compensation, and professional liability (E&O) are maintained for every program site.

●

Abuse-prevention standards

A dedicated Sexual Abuse & Molestation (SAM) insurance rider is active before any cohort begins — a non-negotiable standard for any program serving minors.

✓

Clearances

Every adult working with students completes LiveScan background checks and TB testing, per California requirements.

All tutoring sessions take place in an open, observable, and supervised area — no tutor is ever alone with a student in an isolated or private space.
